Feminist Majority at the University of Chicago is dedicated to taking action on the issues that affect women, in the University, Chicago, U.S.A. and throughout the world. Our group is one of those who have joined together to help form the brand-new Women's Coalition, which hopes to focus on women's issues on campus. More broadly, we address the issues of sweatshops, the income gap, human rights abuses in other countries and in America, reproductive rights and legislation, sexual violence prevention, women in prison, and voter outreach.

The University of Chicago has a strong feminist history (see the movie "Jane"), and we hope to continue that with our first Take Back the Night this coming academic year. In previous years we have joined Take Back the Night at Northwestern.

We would like to be more involved with other RSOs on campus, and next year we hope to do so through the Women's Coalition, working with other RSOs on issues which affect them, and reaching out to women who support women's rights but do not consider themselves feminists.
